Dear ,Have you considered what would happen to your assets if you were to suddenly lose capacity or die tomorrow?
Unfortunately loss of capacity and death can strike at any age and at any time and it is important to be prepared. Do you have a Will, enduring power of attorney and an appointment of an enduring guardian? If so, are those documents up-to-date? Does your Will provide for outright gifts or testamentary trusts?
Have you also planned for those assets which fall outside of your estate such as superannuation and family trusts? Is there anyone who is likely to challenge your estate when you die and, if so, are there any steps which can be taken now to provide greater protection to your estate?
These are some of the questions which will be covered in our upcoming Estate Planning Boardroom Lunch. Anthea McIntyre, Director and Principal Solicitor at McIntyre Legal Pty Ltd, will share a wealth of information to assist you with your estate planning. She will also be able to answer any questions you may have regarding your personal circumstances.
